Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) is set to launch “The Most Beautiful and Best Traditional Falcon Stand” competition. This is for the first time in its history.
This move is aimed at supporting and encouraging craftsmen, inventors, and companies specializing in manufacturing falconry tools and equipment.
The falcon has a historical symbolism and authentic heritage value, making it an essential tool for falconry.
The 20th edition of ADIHEX, organised by the Emirates Falconers’ Club, is set to take place from 23rd to 29th August 2023. The jury will comprise of experts specializing in falconry and its equipment and Emirates Falconers’ Club members.
The evaluation criteria will be based on the extent of efficiency and usefulness of the stand, as well as the overall beautiful appearance of the stand, the quality of the materials used, the appropriate price, and the aesthetic image in respect of the heritage prospect.
Participation will be limited to manufacturers of handmade falcon stands.
ADIHEX has been raising awareness of the value of falconry as a common human art and heritage, the importance of preserving and promoting it, and defining sustainable hunting since its inception in 2003.
This move is aimed at exchanging knowledge and experiences and strengthening relations between domestic and international companies, thus contributing to supporting efforts to preserve the sport of falconry, inherit the sports of parents and grandparents, and provide the best innovations in the world of hunting.
The traditional wooden falcon stand still has unique special aesthetics that express the original legacy of falconry and falcon breeding.
