Abu Dhabi Challenge Welcomes Local Talent

Despite facing the heaviest rainfall on record this week, the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club is ready to host the second edition of the Abu Dhabi Challenge from 18th to 21st April. This event marks the seventh stop on the Challenge Tour’s 2024 Road to Mallorca schedule, featuring rising stars and DP World Tour winners.

Among the notable players competing are 2023 Ryder Cup Vice Captain Nicolas Colsaerts, five-time DP World Tour winner Alex Levy, UAE’s top professional Joshua Grenville-Wood, and Craig Howie, who has been associated with the host venue for over a decade. Howie praises the tranquility of the Al Ain course, making it an ideal location for focused practice away from distractions.

In addition to international talent, the event will showcase UAE’s homegrown talents, thanks to the Emirates Golf Federation’s partnership with the European Tour group. As part of this initiative, the EGF has provided 60 invitations across the Abu Dhabi Challenge and the upcoming UAE Challenge at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, aiming to foster golf development in the UAE.

Notable UAE National Team players receiving invitations include Ahmad Skaik, Mohammad Skaik, and Khalifa Al Masaood. Rayan Ahmed, who recently secured Individual and Team Gold at the GCC Golf Championship, will also represent the UAE.

Golf enthusiasts are encouraged to attend both events, supported by Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Arena, Phoenix Capital, and Al Laith. Witness the talents of Skaik, Grenville-Wood, and the future stars of golf in action.

Entry is free of charge, with no ticket required.
