  • Louvre Abu Dhabi Art Here 2024 and the Richard Mille Art Prize:

Join Louvre Abu Dhabi from 20th September, 2024, to 15th December, 2024, for the fourth edition of Louvre Abu Dhabi Art Here. Curated by renowned art critic Simon Njami, this edition explores the theme of “Awakenings” and expands to North Africa and the GCC. Shortlisted artists will showcase their monumental artworks, with one winner receiving the prestigious Richard Mille Art Prize.

  • Post-Impressionism: Beyond Appearances

Louvre Abu Dhabi

From 16th October, 2024, to 09th February, 2025, dive into the world of Post-Impressionism with this exhibition in partnership with Musée d’Orsay. Curated by Jean-Rémi Touzet and Jérôme Farigoule, explore the innovative period between 1886 and 1905, featuring masterpieces like Vincent van Gogh’s “Van Gogh’s Bedroom in Arles.”

  • Kings and Queens of Africa: Forms and Figures of Power

From 29th January, 2025, to 25th May, 2025, celebrate African royalty with this exhibition in partnership with musée du quai Branly. Curated by Hélène Joubert, Malick Ndiaye El Hadji, and Cindy Olohou, discover the rich history and cultural heritage of African kings and queens, featuring artifacts like the Ife Head from Nigeria.

Louvre Abu Dhabi is thrilled to announce the addition of a remarkable masterpiece to its permanent galleries. As part of its ongoing efforts to enrich its collection, the museum will showcase the Pyxis in the name of Al-Mughira, a stunning Islamic artwork on loan from the esteemed Musée du Louvre.

Dating back to 357 H / 968, this carved ivory Pyxis from Spain, believed to be from Madinat al-Zahra (Cordoba), is a testament to exquisite craftsmanship and historical significance. It will be displayed at Louvre Abu Dhabi for the first time, offering visitors in the UAE a rare opportunity to admire its beauty and learn about its rich heritage.
