Abu Dhabi will soon have its own Kinokuniya Bookstore!
This means that we don’t have to travel to neighbouring Dubai to get our haul of a variety of old and latest book titles.
The Galleria Al Maryah Island will be home to the popular bookstore, further boosting the mega mall’s reputation as a diverse shopping destination once it opens its doors next year.
Since its opening in Tokyo in 1927, Kinokuniya Bookstore has become a beloved brand across the world with flagship stores from as far afield as New York and San Francisco to Sydney and Kuala Lumpur.
The bookstore will boost The Galleria Al Maryah Island’s line-up, which includes a variety of entertainment and leisure offerings such as the 21-screen VOX cinema with IMAX and the first-in-the-region culinary concept Central Kitchens.
“We are very excited to celebrate our unique Japanese heritage with The Galleria Al Maryah Island’s vibrant mix, and we look forward to welcoming the Abu Dhabi community to our store,” Naoya Hirata, managing director of Kinokuniya UAE.
“Young children will love Kinokuniya’s learning and development series, teens will be captivated with popular young-adult titles, and thousands of classic and contemporary fiction and non-fiction titles will suit all preferences.”
