It’s a goal for UAE’s pro-football squad Al Ain FC as the team is set to make its video game debut.
The multi-titled squad is included in the upcoming EA FIFA 20 video game launching worldwide on 27th September.
The game will feature the team and its complete line-up including Al Ain FC’s signature purple colors for a realistic gaming experience.
Hamad Nakhirat Al Ameri, the club’s managing director, commented about this latest achievement, saying: “The addition of Al Ain FC in the upcoming EA SPORTS FIFA 20 is a recognition of the hard work of our players and our management, and more importantly, our incredible fans in the UAE and beyond.”
He added: “Al Ain FC has the history, talent and record to make it one of the best clubs in Asia, and we look forward to showing football fans from around the world a taste our capabilities and the true potential of Arab football.”
Formed in 1968, the team is considered as the most successful football squad in the country as evidenced by its 32 tournament titles under its belt.
To date, the team has won a record 13 UAE Pro-League titles, six President’s Cups, three Federation Cups, one Arabian Gulf Cup, a record five Super Cups, two Abu Dhabi Championship Cups, one Joint League Cup, Emirati-Moroccan Super Cup and Gulf Club Champions Cup.
In addition, the team is the only UAE football squad to have won the AFC Champions League in 2003 alongside two runner-up finished in 2015 and 2016.
The squad’s foray into electronic gaming world is a testament of the team’s success and reputation in the sport, with fans both in the UAE and abroad clamoring for Al Ain FC’s inclusion into the popular video game franchise.
