Give your kids and you an alternative education when you explore culture and history for the month of March
Okay, school is out early and you’re wondering what to do during what seems a very long break. Well, Louvre Abu Dhabi has rolled out some great events for the entire month of March, which are sure to get young (and older) minds thinking… and it’s entertaining too!
Discover traditional Arabic music with Le Trio Joubran on 26 March. The three Joubran brothers Samir, Wissam and Adnan are virtuoso musicians (yes, we had to look it up too - it means highly skilled).
Not only will you get to hear them play harmoniously, so much so, it seems as one, but the brother also honour their Palestinian heritage by setting the words of poet Mahmoud Dawish to music.
Fancy a choir? How about a choir of singing palm trees, and ones that the harder you hug them the louder they sing? Then don’t miss The Singing Trees, a choir of palm trees that sing as well as a falconry display and family film screenings. This ends 7 March so you need to be quick.
If history is your bag, then step back to medieval times in the expo Furusiyya: The Art of Chivalry between East and West where you get to witness firsthand knightly culture from magnificent horse armours to romantic medieval fables, across the Islamic East and Christian West. Showing until 30th May.
With more than 130 artefacts, there’s going to be lots to see in visual culture of the Middle Ages.
So don’t let young minds become bored, when there’s so much learning and fun events at the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
