Flex those arm muscles and head down to the Louvre Abu Dhabi museum to enjoy a serene rowing on the the Arabain Sea under the moonlit sky. Be it a virtual tour or a physical walk-around, the museum’s pieces will not disappoint. They boast of an international collection around the world about a number of topics from the pre-historic times to the modern era. One the current highlight is the ‘Lion Bracelet’ which is captivating piece of jewellery that was chanced upon by villagers in 1947 from a sarcophagus that was from the 7th century! The museum has some ‘literal’ treasures. The admission is free for visitors under the age of 18 and those over 60.

If you’re a science fiction buff; this is right up your alley. The museum has a cinematic podcast which is an audio and visual experience created by a group of artists and musicians. They have envisioned the museum as a backdrop in a galaxy, thousands of years in the future and the entire audio is voiced over by international artists and actors like American actor William Dafoe in English, Emirati singer Hussain Al Jassmi in Arabic, Russian is narrated by DJ, singer and producer Nina Kraviz and many more acclaimed names. Summer fun for Children
There’s still a few weeks before the new school year begins for the little ones. To get their creative juices flowing and occupied with something interesting, the museum has started a challenge for kids every Sunday until 23rd August. Based on the museum artefacts, every week there is a theme that youngsters can create their own ingenuine art on. All you need to do is share your finished pieces with Louvre Abu Dhabi on social media and the winners will be featured on their social media channels! You can register for the challenge here
