The Louvre, Abu Dhabi is now home to international masterpieces.
Louvre is known to curate exhibits and experiences to connect cultures and communities. The highlight of the Abu Dhabi edition is the Furusiyya: The Art of Chivalry between East and West, which will be there till 18th October 2020. It showcases the varied styles of combat and knightly practices that evolved into a culture embraced in the Islamic East and Christian West. Visitors can also enjoy a 360 Virtual Tour with a Museum Educator that is available in three languages. The English tour goes on Sunday, Thursday, and Saturday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM while the Chinese and Arabic tours happen on Wednesdays at 11:00 AM and 3:00 pm respectively.
While you’re down there, you have the chance to take-in the beautiful skyline while indulging in some delights from the Museum Café. They have a ‘Grab & Go’ offer that lets you enjoy the food as you go out to see the sunset from the museum grounds. Prepare to be surprised because we hear that the café has designed menus to mirror the exhibits.
If you’re yearning for the cultural experience but are unable to go down, you maybe better suited to enjoy the digital offerings that includes free access to tours, video, audio, and downloadable activities. They have also launched an app exclusively for kids over 4 years old that has wonderful stories, artworks, and many more creative information that they can learn from in Arabic, English, French, Mandarin, German, and Hindi. The app can be downloaded for free from the App Store and Google Play
