Abu Dhabi considered among the safest destinations in the world to travel with all precautionary measures the United Arab Emirates has taken.
UAE has resumed issuing tourist visas opening the country after six months to visitors looking to visit the country under a tourist visas. Families looking to visit their loved ones, people coming down for short work projects and such can now start planning their visits. This decision has been made on account of the confidence that the UAE has the resources and preventive measures in place to contain any spread of the virus.
Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism, has reiterated how vital it is to safeguard the passengers and the community. They have the measures to ensure the capital positions itself as a key tourist attraction and safest destinations to the public. Saood Al Hosani, undersecretary of the Department of Culture and Tourism, said “Abu Dhabi has been recognised and highly praised for its efficient, persistent and rapid response to managing and containing the spread of Covid-19 through a series of initiatives developed by local government and the relevant authorities, including DCT Abu Dhabi,”
“The implementation of stringent measures and safety guidelines helped boost consumers’ confidence towards our destination, while simultaneously revitalising the tourism sector.”
Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) said, “Tourism is one of the cornerstones of economic development. This is why, over the past few years, we have developed the tourism infrastructure in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, in line with the knowledge economy strategies implemented by the government. This includes enhancing the tourism workforce and encouraging more talent to contribute to the growth of the sector.”
He added, “We have had to approach these challenges with innovative solutions and strategies to revive the sector while maintaining the safety and well-being of our local community, which has always been our utmost priority.”
“We also took this time to develop a number of cultural and heritage programmes, which incorporate a wealth of talent from various backgrounds and age groups.
“Additionally, we have worked on creating a number of ground-breaking virtual experiences to enable travellers to appreciate the best of Abu Dhabi, amidst a number of closures and travel restrictions imposed by the pandemic.”
Key cultural attractions like Louvre Abu Dhabi, Qasr Al Hosn like others created virtual tours and experiences that UAE residents and people across the globe could enjoy for free so that people could still visit their favorite spots, at least digitally.
UAE has left no stone unturned in terms of disinfecting the streets, facilities, public venues and actively testing the residents. This along with other creative solutions has kept businesses and the community reassured during these tumultuous time and as expected the country seems to be opening back after a hiatus. Hotels, amusement parks, restaurants and even certain grades are now open with stringent precautions in place.
