  • Al Jubail Island

Jubail Island

Spread across 4,000 hectares of coastal estuaries and mangrove forests, Al Jubail Island is one of the newest waterfront developments in the city. Visitors are more familiar with the area as the site of the popular Jubail Mangrove Park and Mangrove Walk which opened to the public earlier this year. Other than the beautiful mangrove reserves, the area has a lot more to offer.

Nestled between Saadiyat Island and Yas Island, Jubail Island is a stunning natural retreat located minutes away from the bustling city centre. Apart from a range of convenient facilities and amenities, the island paradise puts residents close to major cultural, entertainment and business destinations in the capital. The area is also home to six distinct villages or communities. Woven across marine waterways and natural landscapes, these residential areas offer a serene living environment and quiet haven away from the bustle of the big city.

  • Shuweihat Island

Shuweihat Island

Shuweihat Island, a place for nature lovers and picturesque geometrical structure chasers. The further west you go, the more islands exist across the coast. As Abu Dhabi is an island surrounded by many other islands, you are bound to find shallow waters of multiple gradients and the ability to walk meters out into the sea with the water reaching only your knees. A great place for a beach getaway, odd sand structures and a tour of the Western region.

  • Saadiyat Island

Saadiyat Island

Saadiyat Island is a natural island and a tourism-cultural project for nature and Emirati heritage and culture, located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The project is located in a large, low-lying island, 500 metres (1,600 ft) off the coast of Abu Dhabi island. A mixed commercial, residential, and leisure project is currently under construction on the island. When completed, Saadiyat Island is expected to become Abu Dhabi’s cultural centre, mostly for the Island’s Cultural District that is expected to include eight museums.

The island is five-minute drive away from downtown Abu Dhabi, 20 minutes from Abu Dhabi International Airport, and one hour from Dubai. The island also boasts two gorgeous white-sand beaches (which protect critically endangered Hawksbill turtles), the competition-worthy Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, a collection of luxury hotels and Manarat Al Saadiyat.

  • Sir Baniyas Island

Anantara Sir Baniyas Island and Resort

Ṣir Baniyas Island is a natural island located 170 km southwest of Abu Dhabi. It lies 9 km, offshore from Jebel Dhanna, which serves as a crossing point to other islands such as Dalma Island. Sir Baniyas is 17.5 km from north to south and 9 km, from east to west, making it the largest natural island in the United Arab Emirates. Located just off the shore of the western region of Abu Dhabi, Sir Baniyas was originally home to Arabia’s largest wildlife reserve. Spanning over 87 km2, the reserve was established in 1977 by Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Thanks to decades of conservation work and ecological investment, it is now home to thousands of large free-roaming wild animals and several million trees and plants. A bird sanctuary as well as a wildlife reserve, Sir Baniyas showcases nature through activities such as adventure safaris, kayaking, mountain biking, archery, hiking and snorkeling.
