Residents in Abu Dhabi can rent an electric scooter for AED 100 per week or AED 200 per month.
Fenix, a UAE-based micro-mobility start-up, is offering a private e-scooter subscription service in Abu Dhabi as it looks to tap into demand for clean mobility solutions. Fenix offers a week-long subscription priced at Dhs 100 as well as a month-long subscription at Dhs 200, which makes it a cost-effective service to use. People that rent the scooter for over 24 months can then keep the scooter for themselves. The e-scooter comes with hand sanitisation packs attached to it, to ensure the safety of each user.
“MyFenix is the first subscription solution in the region … it is a game-changer for mobility access, offering a price point and level of convenience that is within reach of the majority of the population,” said Mr. Jaideep Dhanoa, co-founder and chief executive of the company. The subscription will include unlimited rides, insurance for every ride, a smart app to lock and locate the scooter, free maintenance and vehicle replacements in less than 24 hours in case of any technical problems.
Abu Dhabi is the first city where the start-up has rolled out the subscription-based service. Fenix is also offering e-scooters for rent at the Corniche, Al Dana, Al Bateen, Al Reem Island and at Al Maryah Island. The scooters are priced at Dhs 1 per minute of the ride as well as Dhs 3 to unlock the ride. To avail all the subscription packages, users need to download the Fenix mobile app which is available for iOS and Android devices.
