FIM World Supercross Championship to take place in Abu Dhabi

The world’s best supercross riders will converge on the UAE capital of Abu Dhabi in December 2024 for an adrenaline-fueled season climax at the state-of-the-art Etihad Arena.

The FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX) has announced that Abu Dhabi will host the final round of its upcoming 2024 campaign on December 4th, where a new world champion will be crowned.

This marks the second consecutive year that Abu Dhabi has been selected to stage a WSX event, following the huge success of the 2023 race which drew global audiences and treated fans to an incredible night of high-octane racing action.

The 2024 WSX season is scheduled to kick off on October 26th at the BC Place stadium in Vancouver, Canada.

From there, the series heads to Perth, Australia for a double-header event at HBF Park on November 23-24 before culminating with the Abu Dhabi finale just days before the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Organizers expect even larger crowds for this year’s WSX Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, given its coveted slot during F1 race week when motorsports fans from around the world descend on the UAE capital.

“After the success of last year’s event, we’re delighted to be heading back to Abu Dhabi and the Etihad Arena in 2024,” said Andy Edwards, SX Global Executive Chairman.

“This time around, the incredible venue will host the deciding round of the championship, and that spectacle is sure to have fans out of their seats.”

Ali Al Beshr, Motorsport Development Executive Director at Ethara, expressed his enthusiasm. “With the event taking place during the Formula 1 Race Week, motorsport fans can enjoy back-to-back thrilling action with two World Championship finals in one week.”
