One of the country’s biggest sporting events will tee off today, 16th January.

The Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship 2020 will once again gather some of the biggest names in golf to compete for the coveted falcon trophy and a cool cash prize.

This year’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship edition – running until 19th January and hosted at Abu Dhabi Golf Club – will be the tournament’s 15th edition and will open the first Rolex Series event of the European Tour calendar.

The big names competing this year include Bryson DeChambeau, Sergio Garcia, Ian Poulter, Patrick Cantlay, Haotong Li, two-time tournament champion Tommy Fleetwood and defending champion Shane Lowry.

And just like in previous years, the event will feature an array of exciting side shows for visitors and families.

There’s a championship village featuring loads of activities including live entertainment, food trucks and games for kids and adults.

Today’s competition will end at 5.45 pm. The action picks up on Friday and Saturday before concluding on Sunday from 8am to 4.45pm for the trophy presentation.
