Abu Dhabi is poised to become a hub for space tourism as early as 2025, thanks to a groundbreaking initiative by European space exploration company EOS-X SPACE. The ambitious project aims to offer residents and visitors an unprecedented opportunity to view Earth from the edge of space.

EOS-X SPACE plans to commence operations in Abu Dhabi by the third quarter of 2025, introducing a novel form of space travel that promises to be both thrilling and eco-friendly. The company will utilize pressurized space capsules, each capable of accommodating up to eight passengers, including a pilot. These capsules will be lifted to an impressive altitude of 40,000 meters—the edge of the stratosphere—using helium balloons, ensuring a gentle ascent and minimal environmental impact.

The space journey, lasting approximately five hours, will provide passengers with awe-inspiring views of space, Earth’s curvature, and the planet’s blue halo. This unique perspective is expected to offer a life-changing experience for those fortunate enough to participate.

In addition to the space flights, EOS-X SPACE is developing a state-of-the-art facility in Abu Dhabi, which will include not only launch and landing capabilities but also a luxury hotel complex on Yas Island. This comprehensive development aims to create a complete space tourism ecosystem in the emirate.

Prospective space tourists can expect more than just the flight itself. The package includes a week-long preparatory program featuring cultural experiences, gourmet dining, regenerative medicine treatments, and wellness activities. This holistic approach is designed to ensure passengers are both physically and mentally prepared for their journey to the stars.

While the experience is marketed as ultra-luxury, it comes with a correspondingly high price tag. Interested individuals can expect to pay between AED 600,000 and AED 800,000 for the entire package.

This venture represents a significant step forward in the intersection of human curiosity and space tourism, potentially positioning Abu Dhabi as a leading destination for those seeking to push the boundaries of travel. As the project develops, it will be interesting to see how it impacts the emirate’s tourism industry and its standing in the global space exploration community.
