Travel between the cities of Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafrah is also prohibited during the same time period.
News broke Sunday evening when Abu Dhabi Media Office via the Abu Dhabi Emergency and Crisis Committee for the Covid-19 Pandemic, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Police and the Department of Health announced that the Emirate of Abu Dhabi borders will close from 2nd June to 9th June, a total of seven days.
The announcement is the latest directive among many to help protect the public against the worldwide pandemic.
Those who are exempt, such as frontline workers, will be required to apply for a move permit.
Abu Dhabi borders are expected to reopen on Tuesday, 9th June.
