A successful pop-up through out March in Abu Dhabi
The ‘Library on Wheels’ initiative operated by ADEK ( Department of Education and Knowledge of Abu Dhabi ) continues throughout the year.
This follows a series of successful pop-ups throughout Abu Dhabi city during March as part of ‘ Abu Dhabi Reads‘ programme.
During the weekend at Umm Al Emarat Park, 27,000 people attended literature-themed events, and over 3,000 people exchanged old books for new ones. The pop-ups were part of the ‘Library on Wheels’ tour, which visited 13 schools and 14 key locations over the course of a month.
The strategy fits perfectly with ADEK’s goal to promote a reading culture and contribute to the UAE’s National Reading Agenda. Abu Dhabi Reads this year has unearthed a healthy and highly encouraging appetite for more community-wide opportunities to participate in literature.
Families and students have shown a strong interest in ‘Library on Wheels’, so the tours will continue throughout the year.
The initiative by ADEK will set to visit more schools and key locations across the emirate.
