In the lead up to breast cancer week, Grand Millenium Al Wahda has partnered with Al Jalila Foundation to help raise awareness through Afternoon Tea and Charity Quiz Nights.
Breast cancer is common worldwide and one of the common factors among patients is being diagnosed in the later stages. It is essential that there is ample awareness to urge women to have regular check-ups and enough resources to help further research and treatments in this field.
Al Jalila Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports research, education and work in this area to pave way for substantial result to potentially help the patients. Therefore, Grand Millennium Al Wahda have partnered with the foundation to support the treatment for breast cancer patients. The five-star hotel has decided to celebrate the week through community events that will engage and involve the public. There will be a Pink Afternoon High Tea and Charity Quiz Night that will run throughout October wherin proceeds from both events will go toward supporting the foundation.
Enad Tannous, General Manager at Grand Millennium Al Wahda Hotel, said, “While there is little to no awareness among women about this disease, it is predominantly the most commonly occurring cancer in women and the second most common cancer across the world. Grand Millennium Al Wahda is concerned about the 2020 world statistics which shows over an estimated 268,600 thousand new reported cases and the number is increasing year-on-year. We have contributed our share to the society through this charitable Afternoon High Tea and Charity Quiz Night.”
