The bus services are back with 140 new buses for users to avail in the emirate.

Earlier this year with Covid-19, the bus routes were altered to include services only to select areas. The restrictions have now been lifted and the original schedules are back in place.

The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport has stated that 140 new buses have been added to the transport network. Out of this, 112 buses will work out of Abu Dhabi while 28 new buses will be based out of Al Ain.

These new additions are aimed around increasing the frequencies for passengers to avoid long waiting periods between buses. 146 more bus journeys have been added per day which will help increase the recurrence of popular bus services like numbers 7, 22, 23, 54, 56, 63, 94 and 102. Buses to farther areas like Mussafah, Mohammed bin Zayed City and the airport are also back on track.

All the buses have been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected to ensure the safety of the travellers. All passengers are required to wear masks and maintain a safe social distance once they board the buses.
