Featuring concerts, book readings, live storytelling shows, and lot more…
From the popular Park Market to a music festival and family activities, there’s something for everyone at Umm Al Emarat Park this March.
In collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation, on 06th and 07th March, the Paolo Fresu Trio and Spanish pianist Daniel Ligorio accompanied by the castanets of Belén Cabanes and the dance of Loli Molina will perform under the stars on the Amphitheatre’s outdoor stage for a two-day Festival at the Park.
Guests can visit the STEAM exhibition and the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination Exhibition taking place at the Park. There will be a drumming circle with Dubai Drums, a music workshop by Electro Zebala and a painting workshop. Little ones can also enjoy a lively puppet-show by Adnan Salloum.
In addition to educating the community about the role reading plays in refining personality and developing intellectual abilities, the Park will encourage the community to read.
With ADEK’s library on wheels, a range of books in different languages will be available every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in March. Children can dress up as their favorite characters as they listen to their favorite books being read to them.
By joining ADEK’s book illustration workshop, visitors can also create their own book covers and bookmarks. Children will also have the opportunity to listen to authors read in an outdoor corner.
To celebrate the Reading Month, the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center will also be organizing activities for kids at the park from 17 to 19 March 2022. The little ones will enjoy storytelling by Dr. Fatima Al Mazrouei and Hessa Al Muhairi, oud performances by Bait Al Oud, painting workshops, and quizzes and competitions in the children’s corner.
March is also seeing the last of the Park Market for this season, every Saturday and Sunday from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM, the community alfresco event can be found at the Great Lawn and Promenade to feature stalls selling fresh organic produce and handcrafted products by local SME businesses. Visitors can feast on delectable food and partake in kid-friendly activities while supporting local SME community and enjoy a sustainable shopping experience.
BOUNCE Vibe Tribe members are also invited to try new tricks on BOUNCE’s giant fluffy cloud of air, as well as take a picture with BINCO, BOUNCE’s very own mascot and progression master!
Meditation and yoga enthusiasts across the nation’s capital can take part in the Park’s free wellness program every Wednesday at 6:30 pm, organized in collaboration with Inner Space Centre, Seven Wellness, and Flo Studio. Joining these sessions can help visitors reach full self-awareness, improve physical and mental health, and find inner resilience.
Last but not least, every weekend in addition to Tuesday’s visitors can still catch Umm Al Emarat Park’s Cinema in the Park at the Children’s Garden to enjoy back-to-back family-friendly movies, alongside fun-filled activities for little ones such as origami workshops, face painting and balloon making.
