Passengers flying with Etihad Airways can now do the Covid-19 test at home before their departure.
With flights resuming operations, people are now beginning to travel overseas. However, there are destinations that require visitors to get a COVID-19 test done prior to their journey. This is a mandate that the capital too, has enforced for incoming passengers.
Etihad Airways has made provisions for passengers travelling from Abu Dhabi to conduct home tests before their trip. This initiative is a joint venture with Mediclinic Middle East. This testing can also be arranged for UAE residents looking to enter the capital from other emirates.
You are required to book the Covid-19 test 48 hours before departure to ensure that you have the results in time which does not take more than 24 hours.
This launch is along with a risk assessment form that passengers have to fill online and the ‘fit to fly’ systems installed at airports that are designed to scan travellers for any health conditions. Using thermal imagery, motion sensors and voice recognition the self-service check-in system is able to read your vitals and deem them safe for travel.
If you’re travelling by Etihad Airways, be sure to check-in using the Etihad app or online so that you can reduce the waiting time at the airport and head directly for the health check-up and then wait for your boarding.
You can book a home test by contacting Mediclinic, visiting www.mediclinic.ae or calling 800 2022.
If you still feel overwhelmed at the airport, there are wellness ambassadors on standby to help clear all your concerns and guide you with the procedures. All these new services have been launched by the airline to safeguard passengers health and safety and make travel easier.
