The UAE e-commerce war continues to heat up, with Noon.com taking the battle to a new level with its latest innovation.
The UAE-based online shopping platform has partnered with Chinese tech firm Neolix to try out driverless vehicles designed to do deliveries in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Neolix is a start-up company in China that produces autonomous delivery vehicles for a growing number of companies including JD.com and Huawei.
“Over the next few weeks, Noon.com will trial autonomous vehicles to complete its last-mile delivery in key areas of Abu Dhabi and Dubai,” Noon.com said in a statement.
“The driverless vans are being specially customised to suit the region’s weather conditions, and are being seamlessly integrated with Noon’s logistics platform.”
If plans fall into place, this surely will be a game changer on the entire local digital marketplace.
Now, we can’t wait to hear what the competitors have in store as an answer to this latest breakthrough.
