The airline will offer discounts up to 15 percent to select travelers.
With flights across the globe slowly resuming operations, Etihad Airways has partnered with the government to bolster overseas travel.
Duncan Bureau, Etihad’s senior vice president for sales and distribution said, “We are delighted to partner with the UAE Government to offer its employees exclusive travel discounts, benefits and rewards,”
“Whether booking for business or leisure, we hope this new travel programme will encourage more residents to start flying again.”
To be known as the UAE Government Employee Travel Programme, it will offer 15 percent discount and allow travelers to check in at a dedicated counter at the Abu Dhabi Airport. Those travelling to the United States and Canada will receive a baggage allowance of 15 kg. In addition, passengers travelling in First and Business class will be permitted to have an additional carry on weighing up to 32 kg while passengers in Economy will be allowed an additional allowance of 23 kg. The ticket prices are also expected to include a Covid-19 tests courtesy of Etihad Airways.
This is not the only discount that the government employees can avail. They will also be able to enjoy 10 percent off Etihad Holiday packages and have access to exclusive discounts at partner outlets.
