UAE airlines Emirates, Etihad and Air Arabia have suspended flights to Saudi Arabia “until further notice.
As a part of safety measures in the UAE, airlines like Etihad, Air Arabia and Emirates have suspended flights to Saudi Arabia until further notice. The UAE took this decision after Saudi, on Sunday closed its international land and sea border for a week. Saudi resorted to this measure after new Covid strain found in England is spreading uncontrollably pushing the country to announce a lockdown.
A spokesperson from Etihad Airways said that all the flights to different destinations of Saudi Arabia from Abu Dhabi stand temporarily suspended based on the directions of Saudi Authorities to limit the spread of the virus in the country. “The safety of its customers and crew is Etihad’s highest priority and we regret any inconvenience the suspension may cause.”
Many other countries are suspending international flights as London has announced the spread of the new covid virus variant is “beyond their control”.
There are 33 other countries like Oman, Kuwait, India, Pakistan, France, Germany, Italy, Israel who have suspended flights to UK as a part of safety measures till the end of this month.
Almost 1.69 million people have lost their lives worldwide since the outbreak of this pandemic in November last year in China.
