H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, created a huge buzz on social media last Thursday, 9th January, after he was seen casually strolling with an entourage at a popular mall in Dubai.
Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE was spotted at The Dubai Mall with the founder and chairman of EMAAR Properties, Mohammed Alabbar.
The two even stopped by at a coffee shop to have a chat to the surprise and delight of mall shoppers who were obviously starstruck with the sight of the Crown Prince.
The public meeting was recorded by those fortunate enough to see it and quickly made the rounds on social media.
Residents were of course very happy to see H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan looking very relaxed and leisurely spending his time in a mall.
While such encounter is rare, it’s also not unusual to see the UAE leader take time off from his busy schedule to visit public places.
Who would forget his surprise visit on Mina Zayed in 2018 to personally meet Moosa Khan, an Afghani carpet merchant who went viral after he was filmed while refusing to sell an old photo of the UAE’s founding father, Sheikh Zayed, to a buyer who was offering to purchase the portrait displayed in the shop.
Sheikh Mohamed also shook hands and chatted with the shop owners and staff during his visit at the carpet souq, telling them that the UAE is their ‘second home’.
In September 2017, Sheikh Mohamed personally thanked the thousands of workers who worked tirelessly in the construction of the Louvre Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat Island. The world-class museum officially opened in November.
Just last December, Sheikh Mohamed personally visited the home of Ayesha Al Mazrouei — the young girl who missed out shaking his hand during a welcoming ceremony at the Presidential Palace.
H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met Ayesha’s family and was even game enough for a photo-op.
So keep your eyes open the next time you’re out. Who knows, you might bump into Sheikh Mohamed — that would be awesome!
