The health authorities from the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) calls on the public to remain calm following the first reported case of Wuhan coronavirus in the UAE.
The case was reported yesterday, 29th January, after a family of four from Wuhan, China was confined for displaying symptoms associated with the disease.
Health authorities are closely monitoring the family to ensure safety of both the patients and the public.
MoHAP, however, assures everyone that the UAE’s ‘general health condition is not a cause for concern.’
The ministry is confident that the country is well-equipped to address the issue given the skills and knowledge of health workers and experts across the UAE.
“All the necessary precautions in accordance with the scientific recommendations, conditions and standards approved by the World Health Organization [are being taken],” MoHAP issued in a statement.
“The health system in the country works very efficiently and that the ministry is closely following the situation in a way that guarantees the health and safety of everyone.”
Meanwhile, the Abu Dhabi International Airport has installed thermal screening cameras to monitor body temperature of arriving passengers to minimise the risk of the new coronavirus spreading in the UAE.
We say take necessary measures and steps to prevent any illness.
