Do you have a brilliant idea in mind? Or do you fancy yourself as the next local start-up superstar?
startAD, the Abu Dhabi based global accelerator powered by Tamkeen and anchored at NYU Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development (KFED), is now accepting applications for Ibtikari 5.0.
The five-month incubation program aims to help UAE nationals get their tech start-ups off the ground.
Registration can be done at bit.ly/2LLIWOB and deadline for application is on 5th September 2019.
The program will continue on 22nd September 2019 and end during UAE Innovation Month in February 2020.
Six lucky finalists will be eligible for grants worth AED 10,000, while one team will take home AED 25,000 grant.
What’s more, chosen start-ups will be considered for further funding courtesy of KFED and startAD.
Start-up ideas must be technology-enabled and have early traction in the market with existing customers, pilot projects or partnerships with stakeholders.
Furthermore, the participating teams should have at least one UAE national and a minimum of two fully committed team members.
The participants will be trained on how to scale their business, secure pilot projects with local companies and be investment-ready.
A five-day bootcamp will take place in September and another two-day training in November.
Six out of the twelve teams will then be accepted into the incubation program, which will comprise a series of customized training sessions, workshops, and one-on-one meetings with Ibtikari mentors.
The program will also facilitate introductions to key corporate partners, prospective clients, and experts in the industry locally and globally to help startups expand their networks and advance their businesses.
