When it comes to kids, its all about learning in a fun way
With always a fun-time for children, Louvre Abu Dhabi has come up with exciting new Summer Special Activities for young and cheerful minds.
Right from art-attack to a thoughtful movie show, children can reflect innovative ideas & experience a world beyond books. With encouraging online booking, Louvre ensures safety protocols & easier guidelines for smooth functioning of the event.
Here’s a list of few of the activities designed for the children
ArtLab
Your kids dream of having your own art lab? Here’s one way to start with creating and expressing your thoughts with colors & all things artsy – print your ideas, speak your word, reimagine history, create 3D art, reinterpret our collection, experiment and have fun.
Children get to take over the museum and paint it red, not literally though. This is a fun initiative by the Department of Culture & Tourism for the welfare of all creative minds. Join the artists and create something unique or dive into a world of imagination with other art-making practices.
Admission is free for under 18s, 60+ (for senior UAE nationals and residents)
Date: July 7 – 31, every day between Wednesday and Saturday
Time: 10:30 am to 1:30 pm OR 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm

AED 100 (includes museum admission) per workshop for under-17s (13 to 17 years old)
AED 132 (includes museum admission) per workshop for young adults (18 to 25 years old)

Choose from a series of workshops inspired by the artworks where you can make 3D art, map and print your ideas, express yourself through spoken word and performance, reimagine history, reinterpret our art collections, experiment and – most importantly – enjoy the experience.

The Kayak Cinema Show
Pause while you paddle! For a short-film projected on an exhibition wall awaits you and unleashes the cinematographer inside you with wonderful & unusual depictions of motivational stories for children. What a fun and unusual way to see a film while gently floating on the water!
The film is mainly about love, confidence and family and it embodies a mix of emotions from happiness to fear and from hesitation to pride. The theme ties in with our new Children’s Museum exhibition: Emotions! The new art adventure. They will be projecting ‘Hair Love’, a short film about a young girl trying to style her unruly hair.

Saturday Movie Night
Inspired by the new Children’s Museum exhibition Emotions! The new art adventure, children and families are invited to watch a series of enchanting films at Louvre Abu Dhabi’s auditorium.
This Saturday, Louvre will screen five short films on a loop followed by a different feature film. Complementing the exhibition, each film shows how, young or old, a deeper connection to our feelings can help us to navigate the world.
The title of this weekend’s film is ‘The Secret World of Arrietty’ – A family of tiny people lives hidden in the floorboards of a house. Their adventures start when Arrietty is discovered by the humans. Reservations are encouraged. For more information, please visit Louvre Abu Dhabi

With the reopening of Louvre Abu Dhabi’s Children’s Museum a fantastic new exhibition is in line that will take children on an interactive adventure of art and activities which will help them identify and explore their emotions.
Combining entertainment and education for children aged 4 to 10, Emotions!: The New Art Adventure will feature ten artworks and four interactive stations, which will familiarise visitors with four main emotions: joy/serenity, sadness, fear, and anger.
The Children’s Museum is free to all children. Families need only purchase museum admission tickets for accompanying adults for the whole family to access all Louvre Abu Dhabi galleries and exhibitions. Access to the Children’s Museum is included in the cost of admission, which is free for anyone under 18.
Reflect and Express
Reflect and Express is a useful tool for educators, caregivers and parents, offering creative, therapeutic art- making activities inspired by the museums’ artworks.
The interactive e-book covers daily-life themes such as feelings, self-awareness and relationships, providing prompts that help develop an understanding of emotions and guides users on how to cope with certain situations. A great read for children of age 4 to 10.
