This will be the first show since 2013!
Are we gearing up to laugh out our stomachs? If we are in the same boat, sit tight as one of the top names of the world comedy circle is presenting his wit in the UAE.
This September, the Netflix sensation Russell Peters is all set to perform at the newly opened Etihad Arena on Yas Island. The show will take place on Friday 17th September, put on by GME Events in conjunction with The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and Yas Island.
Tickets can be brought in groups of two, three or four, keeping in mind the safety precautions and hygiene protocols. “I haven’t been to Abu Dhabi since 2013 and this show will be my first international date since COVID. So I’m excited on so many levels and can’t wait to be back,” said Peters.
Russell Peters was last in the UAE in 2019, when he performed to a packed crowd at Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena. He was the first person to play at the massive arena in City Walk, and was a total hit (read our review here).
Known for his keen observations on race and culture, Peters was recently named as one of Rolling Stone’s 50 best comics of all time.
Besides starring in Almost Famous & Notorious on Netflix, Peters recently launched his own Podcast, “Culturally Cancelled” and is currently developing a number of TV series as well as appearing in Clifford The Big Red Dog from Paramount Pictures later this year, so watch this space.
Travelling to Abu Dhabi from Dubai, or just looking for a night away? There are special packages to check out including event tickets and a hotel stay at Yas Island from 06th July.
Peters isn’t the only megastar coming to Yas Island this year. British comedian Michael McIntyre is set to have crowds in stitches when he plays Etihad Arena on Friday 16th July.
