You can book your trip on Yas Island Abu Dhabi
Fully automated self driving taxis are now available in Abu Dhabi. This makes travelling around Yas Island which houses the famous theme parks a delightful experience.
People can book the service through the smartphone application, Txai, which is available on the Apple store or Google Play. The top speed of the taxis was set at 90 kilometers an hour during the trial, but the cars typically do not go above 65 kph. A safety officer who sits in the driver’s seat is there to intervene only if there is a problem.
The taxis can be booked through the TXAI app round the clock and is available on both Google and iOS platforms. The user is required to be in one of nine locations in Yas Island to book a trip.
The next phase of the initiative will involve increasing passenger transport operation. Over 10 vehicles will be operated in different areas around Abu Dhabi. The current fleet of TXAI vehicles consist entirely electric and hybrid cars.
Bayanat specializes in geospatial systems, data analysis and artificial intelligence, recently announced its new fleet of driverless vehicles. This is under the TXAI brand name which represents the self driving taxis in the UAE.
