Abu Dhabi’s about to get slimed!
Popular children’s channel Nickelodeon will bring its Kids Choice Awards to the capital for the next five years following an agreement with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi).
The first regional version of the awards event will take place on 20th September at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
This means that youngsters in the region will have the chance to vote for their favorite artists in the region and beyond.
The awards night is expected to feature everything what the American version has – from celebrity guests, entertainment and electrifying performances to the network’s signature green slime.
The five-year agreement also tangles in the World of Nickelodeon – debuting in the emirate from 19th to 21st September also at ADNEC – to let kids and teens get closer to their favorite cartoon characters.
“An event of this stature fits perfectly with our mandate to provide the very best entertainment and activation for all sectors of society, and we are looking forward to seeing overseas visitor numbers increasing as a consequence of securing this significant event for Abu Dhabi for the next five years,” Saif Saeed Ghobash, undersecretary of DCT Abu Dhabi, said.
Ticket details for KCA and World of Nickelodeon will be announced in the coming days.
