From 16th July to 24th July, Liwa Al Dhafra Region
The 18th edition of the Liwa Date festival begins today in Liwa, Al Dhafra region in Abu Dhabi. The Liwa Date Festival is organized by the Cultural Programmes and Heritage Festivals Committee – Abu Dhabi.
Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, the event runs until 24th July.
This completes the efforts started by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who established the foundations of the country’s agricultural sector.
The event will include 23 main competitions and 293 prizes with a total value of AED 8.3 million.
Several activities in the folklore market, in addition to showcasing traditional crafts, theatre activities will be at the festival.
The festival will be open to public daily from 16th July to 24th July 16.00 pm to 22.00 pm
