Revolutionizing Currency with the Dh 500 banknote
The UAE Central Bank has unveiled an innovative Dh 500 banknote, designed with sustainability in mind. This polymer banknote, adorned in the distinctive blue color for easy identification, reflects the UAE’s commitment to environmentally conscious practices.
Design Highlights:
The front showcases the bold architecture of the Terra Sustainability Pavilion in Expo City Dubai, emphasizing the UAE’s dedication to a sustainable future inspired by the principles of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
On the reverse side, the remarkable Museum of the Future in Dubai takes center stage, serving as an architectural marvel that seamlessly connects the past and the future. Iconic landmarks such as the Emirates Towers and the Burj Khalifa symbolize sustainability, with the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, harnessing solar power for a sustainable future.
Polymer Material for Durability:
In a strategic move towards environmental sustainability, the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) opted for polymer material, making the new Dh500 banknote two or more times more durable than traditional counterparts. This fully recyclable material significantly reduces its environmental impact, aligning seamlessly with the UAE’s commitment to sustainable practices.
Advanced Security Features:
The new banknote incorporates cutting-edge security features, including the multicolored security chip technology known as KINEGRAM COLORSĀ®. Marking a significant leap in security measures, the UAE becomes the first country in the Middle East to utilize the largest foil strip of this kind on banknotes. These measures, previously employed in the new version of the Dh1000 banknote, underscore the UAE’s dedication to preventing counterfeiting and its leadership in security advancements in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa regions.
