Beyond the dunes of Abu Dhabi awaits a magical experience
Staying true to the Arabian concept and rustic retreat lies the secret of the sands, Tilal Liwa Hotel. Over a decade in the UAE, we wondered what took us this long to discover the hidden jewel.
We had the chance to explore the beauty of the desert and the warmth Arabian hospitality at Tilal Liwa Hotel. The hotel is an approximate two hours drive from the heart of Abu Dhabi. The excitement kept growing with the adventurous drive as we knew there is something more special waiting for us.
Just around ‘ The Million Street ‘ we finally reached Tilal Liwa Hotel sitting on the majestic Rub’ al Khali desert. Tilal Liwa Hotel is the first pet friendly desert hotel we have ever been to in the UAE. Not that we have a pet, however it was cute to see well groomed paw-friends around the hotel with their owners.
The true Arabian hospitality remains intact with Tilal Liwa Hotel as we had an amazing experience right from the check-in. We had Mr. Nasser and Mr. Mani from the hotel explaining us about the property and its facilities to gear us for the adventurous break.
Our room was beautiful, overlooking the infinity pool right in the middle of the desert. We were grateful to the UAE weather which made our staycation perfect. The room was spotless and well sanitized adhering to the Covid-19 precautionary measures. I found it cute with the elephant art-towel on the bed along with a delectable dessert platter. (Probably they read my mind, as I have a sweet tooth!)
We took the full board package which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. After the long drive, we definitely needed to energize and explore the desert dunes and make the most out of our stay. The lunch buffet was great, set our expectations right with a variety of dishes to select from.
There is more joy when the entire family involves in the adventurous rides. Make sure to get hands on the quad-bikes. Its an out-of-this-world experience as you keep riding along the dunes.
After our fun and frolic with the dunes, I relaxed in the infinite pool overlooking the majestic Rub’ al Khali Desert. My son had a tough time getting me out of the pool this time!
Another favourite spot which caught my eyes was this oasis right across the pool overlooking the desert. A perfect picturesque spot you have to experience.
After our exciting day of adventures, we relaxed in our cozy room. The F&B manager Mr. Sohail was super helpful and arranged our dinner to the room making us feel as comfortable as possible.
Make sure you don’t miss the barbeque under the stars where you and the entire family will enjoy preparing barbeque with fresh meats in the picturesque night of the desert.
After a peaceful night sleep and sumptuous breakfast, we decided to head back to our daily routine in Abu Dhabi.
Overall the experience was memorable with warmth and kindness from the staff at Tilal Liwa Hotel. We definitely recommend families or large group of friends to unwind in the beauty of the desert.
Although the hotel is rated 4 star, we say its a 4 star hotel with a five star experience!
