The UAE gears up to mark its 48th National Day on 2nd December. This year promises to be more festive, with a long weekend made even more thrilling by the Formula 1 festivities.
If you haven’t made any plans yet, here are some exciting events happening around Abu Dhabi to let you celebrate in style…
Watch The Legacy of our Ancestors show on 2nd December, from 4 pm to 9 pm, at Zayed Sports City. The live spectacle will showcase special effects and vibrant visuals to narrate the UAE’s history. A variety of performances are also in store to commemorate UAE National Day. Entrance fee AED 60.

Bawabat Al Sharq Mall will roll out a variety of fun activities such as face painting, henna tattoo, local dance performances and kids workshops.
Keep an eye on UAE themed character mascots roaming around the mall. But the highlights are the performances from talented Emirati singers including Fatima Zahrat Alain, Mohammed Al-Matroushi, Hazza Al-Dhanhani, and poets Mohammed Al-Saqri and Mohammed Elbriki.
Meanwhile, shoppers will have a chance to win a Ford F150 Raptor for minimum spend of AED 200 at any of the shops or AED 400 at Carrefour. From 28th November to 3rd December.

Qasr Al Watan will host a series of activities starting at 1pm. Palace visitors will enjoy a horse parade, performance by the Abu Dhabi Police Band and locals doing Emirati traditional dance.
Colors of the UAE flag will be projected on the palace’s exteriors at night.

A light laser painting pop-up awaits at Nation Towers Mall from 1st to 3rd December. Revelers can have their photo taken with UAE flag colours on it to make it more fun (and lively).

Emirates Palace will be adorned with UAE flag colours from its grand dome to entryway fountains down to the manicured grass lawns. Inside, guests will get to see 10 different varieties of dates, while kids can enjoy entertainment and educational activities.
Evening will see the sky above the palace lit up with spectacular fireworks at 8.30pm on 1st and 2nd December.

The fun on Yas Marina Circuit on Yas Island continues after the Formula 1 festivities. A classic car parade, live performances, food stalls, local dances and fireworks display at 9pm will wow visitors on the island.

Khalifa Park will set up a carnival with numerous fun attractions for kid and families. Visitors will also enjoy fashion shows, exhibitions, music performances and comedy shows. 2nd to 7th December.
