We’re midway through the month and the weather is still absolutely perfect for outdoor fun.

The big news heading into the weekend is of course the Special Olympics and make sure to catch the action live at the venues or through various media platforms available.

But there are more other things happening around the city for all of us to enjoy. Here are our top picks…

15th March, Friday

Furry pals will take centre stage as the Abu Dhabi Pet Festival returns at du Arena on Yas Island. Whether you’re a pet owner yourself or simply fond of adorable pooches, felines and more, there are plenty of things to enjoy at this event.

Some of the attractions include a dogs agility competition, pets fashion show, petting farm, kids play zone and food and beverage stalls. Want to buy tasty treats for your canine pals? Check out Woofabix’s stall and simply say ‘Abu Dhabi Talking’ to enjoy 10 per cent discount. 3pm-10pm. Free but registration required at petfestival.ae

The School and Nursery Show at Yas Hotel on Yas Island will gather school representatives under one roof. Parents and students will have an opportunity to make enquiries and learn more about the schools and its programmes and facilities. There will also be panel discussions on various school-related topics, which can further help visitors in their decision-making.

16th March, Saturday

The NYUAD Art Gallery on Saadiyat Island plays host to a stirring art exhibition titled Crossings and Corridors. Featuring the works of Saba Qizibash and Adele Goodine, the illustrations and art pieces tackle the social and political conditions surrounding the border between India and Pakistan. Friends and families are in for an absolute treat at the returning Mother of the Nation Festival in Al Bahar, Corniche. Fun and educational attractions await in the four dedicated zones designed with different themes.

Don’t miss out too on the new features this year including Transporta, Art-Zoo Inflatable Park and an Esports Arena for video gamers.
